The Amadeus Project

The Amadeus Project’ features two specially commissioned works for jazz orchestra celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth - ‘dZf’, a revamped and modernised version of The Magic Flute, Mozart’s final opera (Die Zauberflöte), and ‘The Amadeus Suite’, a set of pieces inspired by characters from Mozart’s operas. Best selling thriller writer Robert Ryan wrote the intriguing story for ‘dZf’, which is read by actor Michael Brandon of Dempsey & Makepeace and Jerry Springer The Opera fame.
Guy will be touring the UK with an all star jazz orchestra including Rosario Giuliani between 28 November and 3 December 2007.

Global Mix Artists Receive Awards

Global Mix artists, Manu Dibango and Guy Barker, were honoured at the inaugural Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Awards in May. Dibango was presented the Services to World Jazz award for his contribution to the fusion of jazz with music from around the world. Barker received the UK Trumpeter of the Year Award.
